These Shoes Are Made For Walkin'
August 2024

Introducing my new pair of heels from Tamara Mellon. "The Frontline" comes in two heel heights and because I like to live on the edge, I opted for the higher pair. They pair perfectly with dresses and denim and can easily be dressed up or dressed down.
I'm an all or nothing girl but admittedly, my friend has them in the lower heel and those happen to be very comfortable. I'm even thinking about getting them in another color, perhaps black, and going the lower heel route for practicality purposes.
I love the leather and PVC combo, which makes them look classic but with a fun little edge - something Tamara Mellon does so well. They come in a variety of colors (and even in flats) so there's really something for everyone.
Why I Love These Shoes
Let me tell you what makes these heels special:
- Transparent Straps: The PVC straps add a modern, ethereal touch while keeping your foot secure
- Two Heel Heights: Available in 75mm and 105mm, so you can choose comfort or drama
- Versatile Style: Work with everything from jeans to cocktail dresses
- Quality Construction: Italian-made with premium leather and materials
- Comfortable Fit: Even the higher heel is surprisingly walkable
How I Style Them

With Dresses
These heels are perfect with everything from mini dresses to midi styles. I love pairing them with this beige knit dress for a monochromatic look that's both elegant and easy. The transparent straps create a barely-there effect that elongates the legs beautifully.
With Denim
Don't save these for special occasions! They look incredibly chic with cropped jeans or straight-leg denim. Add a simple white t-shirt and you've got an elevated casual look that's perfect for lunch dates or shopping trips.
For Evening
These heels truly shine for evening events. Pair them with a little black dress or silk slip dress for an effortlessly elegant look. The transparent straps add just enough interest without competing with your outfit.
The Tamara Mellon Difference
If you're not familiar with Tamara Mellon, she's the brilliant mind behind Jimmy Choo. After years of building that brand, she launched her own line with a focus on luxury shoes at more accessible prices - and without the traditional retail markup.
What sets Tamara Mellon shoes apart:
- Direct-to-consumer model means better prices
- Italian craftsmanship and materials
- Modern designs with classic appeal
- Focus on wearability and comfort
- Trend-forward without being trendy
Other Styles to Consider
If you love The Frontline but want to explore other options, Tamara Mellon has an incredible range:
- The Frontline 75: Same style in a lower, more comfortable heel (75mm)
- The Frontline Flat: All the style with zero heel - perfect for all-day wear
- Different Colors: Available in black, nude, metallics, and seasonal colors
- Pump Styles: Classic pumps with the same transparent detail
Comfort Tips
To make any heels more comfortable for walking:
- Use gel insoles or ball-of-foot cushions
- Break them in gradually - wear around the house first
- Keep blister prevention strips in your purse
- Choose the right size - your foot shouldn't slide forward
- Alternate heel heights throughout the week
Investment Worth Making
At around $495, these heels are definitely an investment. But when you consider the Italian craftsmanship, versatile styling options, and timeless design, they're worth every penny. I've worn mine countless times already and they still look brand new.
The transparent strap trend has been going strong for several seasons now, and I don't see it disappearing anytime soon. These shoes hit that sweet spot between classic and contemporary that makes them a smart long-term investment.
Whether you go for the higher heel like I did or opt for the more comfortable lower version, I think you'll love how versatile and chic these shoes are. They truly are made for walking - stylishly!
