Skincare: My Favorite Face Masks
April 2024

Face masks are one of my favorite ways to give my skin some extra love. I try to use one daily - whether I'm sitting around the house or getting ready for an event. Here are my absolute favorites, each serving a different purpose in my skincare routine.
Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant
Hands down, my number one most repurchased mask ever. I've been using Masque Vivant for almost a decade because my skin just loves it. If you can get past the offensive smell of soy sauce and Vegemite, I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.
What it does: Evens out skin, shrinks and tightens pores, regulates sebum secretion, purifies and revives, and brightens the complexion.
How to use: I typically use it about 3x a week, but you can certainly use it daily. I apply a little P50 prior to the mask to open up pores. On days when my skin is breaking out or feeling extra congested, I mix it with a little baking soda.
Biologique Recherche VIP O2
This is my second favorite from Biologique. When my skin is feeling and looking dull and parched, the VIP O2 is my go-to.
What it does: Enhances cell regeneration, soothes the skin, and replenishes lipids. On vacation or when I've had a bit too much sun, I love to use this to replenish my skin.
How to use: You can use it daily, morning or night. I tone, apply a layer on my face, neck, and chest and leave it on for as long as I'm able to.
Clarins Intense Depuffing Mask
This mask has become my go-to on mornings when I've had too many drinks, too much soy sauce with my sushi, or anything that just makes me look extra puffy. It's not a miracle, but it does work.
What it does: Depuffs and debloats! I will sometimes use one of the above masks on my t-zone and cheeks and then use the depuffing mask on my jaw.
How to use: On a freshly cleansed face, apply to your entire face or specific areas. I often concentrate on my jaw and around my eye area.
Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask
As the name suggests, this mask resurfaces the skin and never fails to leave it feeling smoother and brighter. I leave it on for about 20 minutes and upon rinsing off, I'm left with a rosy complexion that settles into looking radiant and refreshed.
What it does: Brightens, exfoliates, and leaves the skin looking polished.
How to use: On freshly cleansed face, I apply and leave on for 10-30 minutes. If you're sensitive or new to the mask, start out slow and work your way up.
Farmacy Honey Potion Plus
This is so good when your skin is feeling like it needs some extra soothing nourishment, especially after spending time on vacation and in the sun. It warms up as you apply and the honey formula seems to just melt into the skin.
What it does: Soothes, moisturizes, nourishes, replenishes.
How to use: Whenever your skin is feeling particularly dry or parched, generously apply to cleansed skin and leave it on as long as you're able to.
Farmacy 10% Niacinamide Overnight Mask
An overnight leave-on face mask that smooths, refines texture, and supports the skin's moisture barrier. It's super moisturizing and I just love an overnight mask that works for you while you sleep.
What it does: Helps with pores, dullness, and dehydration.
How to use: I love using it on top of my nighttime moisturizer. I follow my routine as usual and use this as my last step.
The Light Salon Light Boost Mask
Last but certainly not least is my Light Boost LED Mask. Not a traditional mask, but one I don't ever want to be without. I cannot say enough good things about what it does for my skin. I love using one of the above masks and then following it up with the Light Boost.
It's pricey, but if there's something to put on your future wishlist, it's this one. The LED therapy helps with everything from acne to anti-aging, and the results are incredible.
How about you? Please let me know your favorites! I'm always wanting to try something new.
